We Know Enough
A refrain for our times
This moment is bringing out the best in some of us (like this speaker) and bringing out the worst in others of us. This is a time for choosing to live a life that you're proud of, or not.
What I really love about this brief speech is the way that the speaker skillfully uses a parallel case to compare the two situations and--with great empathy and humility--invites his audience to think of themselves as those German citizens who did nothing.
The speaker invokes the excuses they might make now, compares them to the excuses that they made then. And again with great empathy and humility--invites his audience to think about the anguish that the German mayor must have felt for not deciding as the speaker urges the city council to decide. We know enough.
"We know enough" is a refrain that prevents people in positions of power from pretending that they don't know. We are responsible. We know enough. ❤️

Wow.
The words this man shared, and the way he shared them – brilliantly done. They can be an inspiration for us when ICE comes looking for warehouses in our community to serve as detention camps (concentration camps by another name). Thank you!
